Accessibility
Accessibility is not just for those with a badge on their car – it affects a huge part of the internet browsing population – don’t lose that client base to poor design and coding
The traditional view of Accessibility is that it is a consideration reserved only for the thankfully small percentage of the population who are severely physically disabled and require specialist equipment to browse a site. However, accessibility in relation to websites embraces a wider group with, for example visual impairment or inability to use a mouse for navigation. According to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation as many as two thirds of Internet users said that they required assistive devices to access the Internet.
When you consider the potential loss of audience, and therefore loss of business if such a large percentage of the population cannot access your site properly, addressing accessibility intelligently becomes a business ‘no brainer’.
We can help you implement a site that complies to the accessibility standard that best suits your business. And comfortingly, if this is factored in during the initial build it does not have to have major cost implications.
