Scalability and Performance
Websites that don’t respond quickly to visitors, quickly loose those visitors. We, as consumers, have grown accustomed to instant access to all things internet, and no longer tolerate sluggish websites; make us wait 5 seconds and we’re gone. However, as a website grows in complexity and sophistication, this becomes ever increasingly hard to do, while it becomes more and more important.
Faster than a speeding bullet
Sitecore’s web-farm is serving our clients with blistering speeds. We’ll let you in on a little known fact: Sitecore is running many of the world’s largest and most mission-critical web properties. One of the largest Sitecore web farm to date consists of 400 front-end servers and we have implementations that deliver more than 28 million Sitecore XML documents. From a performance standpoint, the Sitecore client was able to double performance of their website using Sitecore, over their own previous hand-coded solution. Sitecore has dedicated tremendous efforts to design the most efficient and optimized dynamic caching system. It’s something you can’t just hand-code into your application overnight.
Sitecore only serves dynamic web pages. The concept of solving speed problems by using static HTML pages is just a vendor's lame excuse for not being able to make fast and reliable software with efficient caching. Sitecore lets you deliver hundreds to thousands of web pages per second from a single web server.
